I am going to focus here on a few easy health practices with huge positive effects that can be easily incorporated into your lifestyles. In addition, each of these techniques alone have been empirically and scientifically proven to have even cured or helped people with serious illnesses such as cancer, depression, anxiety, diabetes and more. Now imagine if all of these come together and become a part of your everyday life – an explosion of good health, living, and vitality.
And here’s the deal. What if they take no more than 30 minutes a day all together!!
1. 2 Glasses of water in morning
Yes, it is a common practice in Japan to drink water first thing in the morning. This practice is known as Japanese water therapy, or ‘Mizu-no-ryoho.’ The ancient Ayurvedic practice of Ushapan, or drinking water first thing in the morning, has also been suggested as an excellent approach to regain health. It has numerous advantages, some of which are listed below:
- Cleanses the colon, which improves nutrient absorption
- Drinking enough water keeps the body free of toxins, which in turn keeps the skin clean
- Balances the lymphatic system
- Fires up your metabolism and helps in weight loss
- Gives you a sense of calmness
Recall that the majority of centenarians on Earth are Japanese. Together with their generally healthy eating habits and way of life, they are not typically overweight because they have a strong metabolism, which is thought to be one of the main causes. Indeed, water treatment is well regarded in Japan as a one-stop solution for a wide range of illnesses, from cancer to headaches. Not much to lose, considering that we are all made up of 70% water, that we haven’t had any water in 8 or 9 hours, and that traditional Indian wisdom strongly suggests it. It makes perfect sense to put it into practice, but it has long been disregarded. Worth adding to your everyday schedule, huh?
2. 3 SRB
The 3 SRB rhythmic breathing is an ancient technique of breathing. Though it should be our natural condition of breathing, we have become far from it as a result of our flawed upbringing. The Yogasutra authored by Sage Patanjali is the source of this practice. These are also referenced in the old Vedas as being a component of Swar Nadi Shastra.
I know a lot of folks who have benefited greatly from this breathing practice. Some people overcame heart bypass surgery or other heart conditions, while others were healed of diabetes, asthma, or other conditions, and some even gained mobility. For additional information on this breathing method, visit www.3srb.org.
I have participated in a couple 3SRB sessions and have done some practice. I felt well, natural, and energised in the absence of any other condition to relate to. The distinction between 3SRB and Pranayama lies in the fact that 3SRB is a method of breathing, as opposed to Pranayama, which is done for a set amount of time. Pranayama is supposed to help you tune into a rhythmic breathing. Rhythmic breathing is what you should truly live and breathe. This breathe was natural as a child, but you’ve forgotten how to do it. If you examine the method closely, you’ll see that it’s fairly sound, and the exercises (called refining exercise, attentive relaxation, and SWISO) that come before the main breathing seem to follow a certain methodology. Ultimately, the goal is to increase your entire body and internal organ flexibility so that you can effortlessly tune into the primary 3SRB breathing pattern.
3. Meditation
Nothing beats meditation. It provides you with the courage to confront life’s obstacles head-on with insight and a true comprehension of life, rather than by adopting a band-aid solution. It serves as a link between the material and spiritual realms. It ultimately makes you happy. That’s what counts in the end, correct? The knowledge you have gained, in turn, has a profound impact and may even improve your physical well-being. My blogs here include more information about meditation. The Can You Play book provides a comprehensive explanation of meditation and its progressive effects on the body and mind.
4. Salt Water Bath
Issues might also arise from dimensions that are difficult to see. Traditionally, taking a salt water bath has been utilised to protect your body from the impacts of negative energy. This is on top of the physiological advantages that have been demonstrated by science. See my other article here to learn more about salt water baths and its advantages.
5. Exposure to sun
The sun is where all energy comes from. And if we turned our backs on it, it would be incredibly unreasonable. Still, we do. We unwittingly take avoiding the sun’s rays for granted because of our digital lifestyles, which have led us to believe that dermatologists are gods. Get the sun, please! One of the finest ways to obtain this life force is to spend ten minutes each day basking in the sun. You really don’t want to miss out on this one, even if you think a pill could take care of it later in life. Starting with vitamin D and its tens of hundreds of biological processes in the body (which I won’t get into). Accept nature to the fullest and stay away from imitations, which are merely rough workarounds. Studies have indicated that vitamin D from sunshine has a significant beneficial impact on a variety of disorders, including cancer, depression, and other neurological ailments. In fact, combining 3SRB, meditation, and sun exposure would be a really good idea. If you can, spend some time in the sun while doing 3SRB and meditation. Perhaps a park or garden close by, or the veranda where you can enjoy plenty of sunlight.
Simple actions carried out with diligence can have a big positive impact. These are not only easy to do, but they also take very little time. When combined, 3SRB and meditation might just take 20 minutes or such. Actually, you would come to adore the combination—particularly the one including 3SRB and meditation. Enjoy the quiet, invigorate yourself with fresh air, and sit in peace. After my morning bath, it used to be something I really looked forward to. Two glasses of water is scarcely any time at all. About ten more minutes of salt water bathing.
I’m assuming you’ll be eating a balanced diet consisting of a nice balance of fruits and vegetables. There are many factors to consider when it comes to diet, but that’s a matter for a different discussion. The aim, however, was to spice up your regular activities with some extra flavor—activities that are easy to follow, proven, and can help you retain your health and energy.
So that’s it. You have added that extra spice to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. In the book ‘Can You Play‘, I also explain in detail how the various pathways that go into our brains need to be nurtured and the above practices help to achieve the same and totally consistent with it.
